Agreement Overview
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of services provided by RegistryConnect (ABN 57 941 788 145), a professional accounting firm located at 6 Star Circuit, Derrimut. By engaging our services, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
Business Continuity Notice: RegistryConnect has been providing professional services since 2020 as a sole trader. On April 15, 2025, we formalized our business registration and domain acquisition (registryconnect.com.au). These Terms apply to all services provided throughout our operational history, ensuring continuity of professional standards and client protection.
These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you ("Client") and RegistryConnect ("we," "us," or "our"). Please read these Terms carefully before engaging our services.
Our Services
RegistryConnect provides professional accounting and business advisory services including:
- Individual and business tax return preparation and lodgment
- Business Activity Statement (BAS) preparation and lodgment
- Company and business name registrations
- ABN and GST registrations
- Bookkeeping and accounting services
- Business advisory and consulting
- Self-Managed Super Fund (SMSF) services
- Financial planning and business structuring advice
Specific services will be outlined in individual engagement letters or service agreements.
Client Responsibilities
As our client, you agree to:
- Provide complete, accurate, and timely information and documentation
- Respond promptly to our requests for information or clarification
- Maintain proper books and records as required by law
- Pay fees and charges in accordance with our fee schedule
- Notify us immediately of any changes to your circumstances
- Comply with all applicable laws and regulations
- Review and approve all work before submission to authorities
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
Fees and Payment Terms
Fee Structure
- Fees are based on time spent, complexity of work, and value provided
- Fixed fees may be quoted for specific services
- Additional charges may apply for urgent or out-of-scope work
- All fees are quoted in Australian dollars and include GST where applicable
Payment Terms
- Payment is due within 14 days of invoice date unless otherwise agreed
- Interest may be charged on overdue accounts at 1.5% per month
- We reserve the right to suspend services for overdue accounts
- Payment methods include bank transfer, credit card, and direct debit
Professional Standards
We are committed to maintaining the highest professional standards:
- All work is performed in accordance with Australian accounting standards
- We maintain professional indemnity insurance
- Our staff are qualified and regularly undertake continuing professional development
- We comply with Institute of Public Accountants (IPA) and other professional body requirements
- Quality control procedures ensure accuracy and completeness of work
- We maintain strict confidentiality and independence standards
Limitations and Disclaimers
Service Limitations
- Our services are based on information provided by you
- We do not audit or verify information unless specifically engaged to do so
- Tax and legal advice is general in nature and may not suit your specific circumstances
- We are not responsible for decisions made based on our advice
- Our liability is limited to the fees paid for the specific service
Liability Limitations
Professional Standards Legislation: Liability limited by a scheme approved under Professional Standards Legislation.
As an IPA Practice qualified firm operating under Professional Standards Legislation, our liability is limited as follows:
- Our total liability is limited in accordance with the approved liability limitation scheme
- We maintain professional indemnity insurance as required by Professional Standards Legislation
- We exclude liability for indirect, consequential, or special damages
- We do not guarantee specific outcomes or results
- Claims must be made within 12 months of the service being provided
- The limitation applies to the maximum extent permitted by law and the approved scheme
Confidentiality
We are committed to maintaining the confidentiality of your information:
- All client information is treated as strictly confidential
- Information is only disclosed with your consent or as required by law
- Staff are bound by confidentiality agreements
- Secure systems and procedures protect your information
- Confidentiality obligations continue after our engagement ends
Termination
Either party may terminate our engagement:
- With 30 days written notice for ongoing services
- Immediately for breach of these Terms
- Immediately if fees remain unpaid after notice
- For any reason with mutual agreement
Upon termination, you remain liable for all fees incurred up to the termination date.
Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Victoria.
We encourage resolution of disputes through discussion and negotiation before pursuing formal legal proceedings.
Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Changes will be:
- Posted on our website with the updated date
- Communicated to existing clients via email
- Effective 30 days after notification unless otherwise specified
Continued use of our services after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
